The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
