The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, holding mansions of the stars, 1 And the promised day, 2 By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;- 3 That accursed are the men of the trench 4 Of fire fuel-fed, 5 When they sat by it 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. 9 Those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of Gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning. 10 [But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great! 11 Verily the grip of thine Lord is severe. 12 It is He who originates and repeats. 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Has it come to you the story of the hosts 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 Allah encompasses them all from behind. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 (Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (The Preserved Tablet)! 22
