The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the sky with its constellations, 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 and by the witness (Muhammad) and that which is witnessed (the Day of Judgment), 3 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel: 5 When they were sitting near it 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 To Him only belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness over all things. 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 VERILY, thy Sustainer's grip is exceedingly strong! 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 However, God encompassed their activities. 20 Aye! it is a Recitation glorious, 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
