The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky containing great stars 1 And the promised day, 2 and by the witness (Muhammad) and that which is witnessed (the Day of Judgment), 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 Full of fire fed by faggots, 5 Lo! [With glee do] they contemplate that [fire,] 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 God to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness over everything. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and women without repenting will suffer the torment of hell and that of the burning fire. 10 For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), 11 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. 12 Verily He! He it is who beginneth and repeateth it. 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 in sublime almightiness enthroned, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Has the story of the armies reached you, 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 Indeed, this is a Glorious Koran, 21 In a guarded tablet. 22
