The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heavens with constellations, 1 and [then bethink thyself of] the promised Day, 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 Cursed were the companions of the trench 4 Of fire fuel-fed, 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- 8 To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. 9 Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 in sublime almightiness enthroned, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Hast thou received the story of the hosts, 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 In fact it (what they deny) is the Noble Qur’an. 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
