The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
