The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 it is no merriment. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
