The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17

God the Almighty always says the truth.
