The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
