The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 The piercing star! 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 it is no merriment. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
