The All High (Al-A'alaa)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Rolling (Al-Takweer) before The Night (Al-Layl)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 Who created and proportioned 2 And who destined and [then] guided 3 And Who bringeth out the (green and luscious) pasture, 4 then turns it into black stubble. 5 We will make you recite, [O Muhammad], and you will not forget, 6 unless God wills it to be otherwise. He knows all that is made public and all that remains hidden. 7 We shall take you slowly towards ease. 8 So remind, if the reminder should benefit; 9 He who fears [God] will heed the reminder, 10 And the most unfortunate one will avoid it, 11 who will roast in the Great Fire, 12 wherein he will neither die nor remain alive. 13 To happiness [in the life to come] will indeed attain he who attains to purity [in this world,] 14 And remembers (glorifies) the Name of his Lord (worships none but Allah), and prays (five compulsory prayers and Nawafil additional prayers). 15 But rather you prefer the life of this world! 16 While the Hereafter is better and more enduring. 17 Most surely this is in the earlier scriptures, 18 In the Books of Ibrahim and Moosa. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
