The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ GLORIFY THE NAME of your Lord, most high, 1 Who hath created, and further, given order and proportion; 2 And the One Who kept proper measure and then guided. 3 It is He who has caused the grass to grow, 4 then made it dry dark, flaky stubble, 5 We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget 6 Except what Allah pleases, surely He knows the manifest, and what is hidden. 7 And We will make your way smooth to a state of ease. 8 REMIND, THEN, [others of the truth, regardless of] whether this reminding [would seem to] be of use [or not]: 9 The reminder will be received by him who fears (Allah), 10 But the most hapless will flout it, 11 He will be cast into the Great Fire. 12 then he shall neither die therein, nor live. 13 To happiness [in the life to come] will indeed attain he who attains to purity [in this world,] 14 and remembers his Sustainer's name, and prays [unto Him]. 15 No; but you prefer the present life, 16 Though the life to come is better and abiding. 17 This is surely in the earlier Books, 18 The scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
