Al-A'alaa
The All High (Al-A'alaa)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Rolling (Al-Takweer) before The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High, 1 Who hath created, and further, given order and proportion; 2 Who hath ordained laws. And granted guidance; 3 Who brought forth the pasture, 4 And then doth make it (but) swarthy stubble. 5 We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget 6 Save that which Allah may will. Verily He knoweth the public and that which is hidden. 7 We shall ease you to follow the way of Ease. 8 Wherefore admonish thou; admonition hath surely profited, 9 The admonition will be received by those who fear (Allah): 10 But the most hapless will flout it, 11 who will roast in the Great Fire, 12 Then he neither dies in it, nor lives. 13 Prosperous is he who has cleansed himself, 14 And recites the name of his Lord and serves with devotion. 15 But nay, [O men,] you prefer the life of this world, 16 and the world to come is better, and more enduring. 17 This indeed is what is taught in the former scriptures -- 18 The scriptures of Ibrahim and Musa. 19
