Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 In a high Garden 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 raised couches, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
