Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 When he left towards the laden ship. 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick. 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 It is only because of their false invention that they say, 151 "God has begotten children." They are truly liars. 152 Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you judge? 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Or have you received some clear authority? 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 Except the one who will go into the blazing fire. 163 (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed; 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 and we glorify God". 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our slaves, the Messengers, 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 And see them thou; they themselves shall presently see. 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
