Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 and couches raised high, 13 And cups put in place 14 Cushions arranged, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
