Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In a lofty garden, 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 and raised couches, 13 Goblets set, 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
