Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 labouring, weary, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 In a Garden on high, 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.
