Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 In an elevated garden, 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 and goblets laid out, 14 Cushions arranged, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.
