Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 and raised couches, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
