Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In the high empyrean, 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 and couches raised high, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 Cushions arranged, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
