The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I do not (need to) swear by this town (Mecca) 1 For you (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) are in this city. 2 And by the giver of birth, and whom he fathered, 3 We verily have created man in an atmosphere: 4 Does he think that no one can overpower him? 5 And he saith: I have destroyed vast wealth: 6 Does he then think that no one sees him? 7 Have We not made for him a pair of eyes? 8 And a tongue and two lips? 9 Have We not shown him the ways of good and evil? 10 But he hath not attempted the Ascent - 11 And what will explain to thee the path that is steep?- 12 The freeing of a slave, 13 or, in a day of famine, the feeding of 14 to an orphan near of kin 15 or of a needy [stranger] lying in the dust 16 so that he becomes one of those who believe, charge each other to be patient, and charge each other to be merciful. 17 Such are they that have attained to righteousness; 18 But those who disbelieve Our revelations, their place will be on the left hand. 19 over them is a Fire covered down. 20
God the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
