The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah), 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 I have warned you then about a raging Fire: 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 and such, indeed, shall in time be well-pleased. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
