The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night, when it envelops, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah), 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 They do not expect any reward 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 He verily will be content. 21
