The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of the night when it covers 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 surely your strivings are divergent. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
