The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night, when it envelops, 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 Verily, [O men,] you aim at most divergent ends! 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 for those who spend for the cause of God, 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 And gives of his wealth that he may grow in virtue, 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 Will surely be gratified. 21

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
