The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the night, when it envelops, 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,- 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance. 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
