The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 for those who spend for the cause of God, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 And gives of his wealth that he may grow in virtue, 18 They do not expect any reward 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
