The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 They do not expect any reward 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 And he shall soon be well-pleased. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
