The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 and calls the ultimate good a lie 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 Who had denied and turned away. 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 and such, indeed, shall in time be well-pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
