Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

I swear by the early hours of the day, 1 and the night when it grows still and dark. 2 Thy Lord has neither forsaken thee nor hates thee 3 And the Hereafter is indeed better unto thee than the life present. 4 For your Lord will certainly give you, and you will be content. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 Did He not find you a wanderer so He guided you? 7 And He found thee destitute, so He enriched thee. 8 Therefore do not oppress the orphan. 9 and as for the beggar, scold him not; 10 And as to the favour of thine Lord, discourse thou thereof. 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
