The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of the late morning, 1 And the night when dark and still, 2 Your Lord has not forsaken you nor does He dislike you! 3 And verily the latter portion will be better for thee than the former, 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And He found you lost and guided [you], 7 And found you in need, so made you prosperous? 8 Therefore, as for the orphan, do not oppress (him). 9 and chide not him who asks, 10 and proclaim the bounties of your Lord. 11
