The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the glorious morning light; 1 and by the night when it covers, 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 And verily the latter portion will be better for thee than the former, 4 And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied. 5 Found He not thee an orphan, so He sheltered thee? 6 And He found thee wandering, so He guided thee, 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 Therefore, be not harsh with the orphan; 9 Therefor the beggar drive not away, 10 And as to the favour of thine Lord, discourse thou thereof. 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
