Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

By the white forenoon 1 By the night when it darkeneth, 2 Your Lord has neither left you, nor despises you. 3 And the Hereafter is indeed better unto thee than the life present. 4 And soon will your Lord give you so that you shall be well pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)? 7 Did He not find thee needy, and suffice thee? 8 So do not oppress the orphan, 9 and do not chide the one who asks for help; 10 And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
