In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
