The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah). ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
