The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
