The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
Almighty Allah's Truth.
