Proof (Al-Bayyinah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The deniers of truth from among the People of the Book and the polytheists would not desist from disbelief until they received clear evidence -- 1 a Messenger from Allah, reciting from Purified Scrolls; 2 Containing correct and straight laws from Allah. 3 Nor did the People of the Book disagreed among themselves until after receiving the ancient divine testaments. 4 And withal, they were not enjoined aught but that they should worship God, sincere in their faith in Him alone, turning away from all that is false; and that they should be constant in prayer; and that they should spend in charity: for this is a moral law endowed with ever-true soundness and clarity. 5 Indeed, they who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists will be in the fire of Hell, abiding eternally therein. Those are the worst of creatures. 6 [And,] verily, those who have attained to faith, and do righteous deeds - it is they, they who are the best of all creatures. 7 Their reward with their Lord is gardens of perpetuity beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein for ever; Allah is well pleased with them and they are well pleased with Him; that is for him who fears his Lord. 8
