Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the chargers, snorting, rushing to battle before the others, 1 Striking sparks of fire 2 And push home the charge in the morning, 3 Then, therewith, with their trail of dust, 4 Then penetrate to the centre of the enemy army. 5 The human being is certainly ungrateful to his Lord. 6 And indeed he himself is a witness to it. 7 And verily, he is violent in the love of wealth. 8 ۞ But does he not know that [on the Last Day,] when all that is in the graves is raised and brought out, 9 and the secrets of the hearts are laid bare (and examined)? 10 Verily, that Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) their Lord will be Well-Acquainted with them (as to their deeds), (and will reward them for their deeds). 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
