The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the snorting, panting horses, 1 by the strikers of fire, 2 rushing to assault at morn, 3 Then, therewith, with their trail of dust, 4 And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;- 5 Verily man is most ungrateful to his Lord; 6 And is himself witness to it, 7 And indeed he loves wealth to the extreme. 8 ۞ Is he not aware of the time when the contents of the graves will be brought out? 9 And that which is in the breasts (of men) shall be made known. 10 On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! 11
