The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By oath of those that sprint, breathing heavily. (The horses used in Holy War.) 1 by the strikers of fire, 2 by the dawn-raiders 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 forcing their way into the midst of the enemy, 5 Indeed man is very ungrateful towards his Lord. 6 And verily to that he is witness. 7 for, verily, to the love of wealth is he most ardently devoted. 8 ۞ But does he not know that [on the Last Day,] when all that is in the graves is raised and brought out, 9 And there shall be brought to light that which is in the breasts? 10 Verily, that Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) their Lord will be Well-Acquainted with them (as to their deeds), (and will reward them for their deeds). 11
