Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

The excessive gathering (of increase and boasting) occupied you (from worshipping and obeying) 1 until you reach your graves. 2 Lo! presently ye shall know. 3 You shall cetainly know (about the consequences of your deeds). 4 Nay! if you had known with a certain knowledge, 5 Indeed you will see hell. 6 Again, indeed you will see it with certainty. 7 Then, on that day, you will be questioned about the bounties (of God). 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
