The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every backbiter, slanderer 1 who collects and hordes wealth, 2 thinking that his property will make him live forever. 3 By no means! He will be sure to be thrown into That which Breaks to Pieces, 4 And what shall make thee know that which the Crushing Fire is? 5 It is the fire kindled by Allah, 6 Which penetrates the hearts 7 covered down upon them, 8 In extended columns. 9
