Believers, do not devour usury multiplied many times over. Fear God, so that you may prosper, 130 And fear the Fire, which has been prepared for the disbelievers. 131 Obey Allah and the Messenger in order to be subjected to mercy. 132 ۞ Hasten to obtain forgiveness from your Lord and to qualify yourselves for Paradise. Paradise, vast as the heavens and the earth, is prepared for the pious 133 who spend [in His way] in time of plenty and in time of hardship, and hold in check their anger, and pardon their fellow-men because God loves the doers of good; 134 These are the ones who, when they commit any indecency and wrong against themselves, instantly remember Allah and implore forgiveness for their sins - for who will forgive sins save Allah? - and who do not wilfully persist in the wrong they did. 135 Those -- their recompense is forgiveness from their Lord, and gardens beneath which rivers flow, therein dwelling forever; and how excellent is the wage of those who labour! 136 Some traditions have been tried before you – therefore travel in the land and see what sort of fate befell those who denied. 137 This (the Quran) is a plain statement for mankind, a guidance and instruction to those who are Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V. 2:2). 138 Be not, then, faint of heart, and grieve not: for you are bound to rise high if you are [truly] believers. 139 If a wound touches you, a similar wound already has touched the nation. Such days We alternate between the people so that Allah knows those who believe, and that He will take witnesses from among you, for Allah does not love the harmdoers, 140 And that Allah may purge those who believe and destroy the infidels. 141 Do you suppose that you would enter the Garden, without God knowing those among you who would strive hard for His cause and endure with fortitude? 142 And verily ye used to wish for death before ye met it (in the field). Now ye have seen it with your eyes! 143
