Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, may he be ruined. 1 Of no avail shall be his wealth, nor what he has acquired. 2 Surely, he will be cast into a Flaming Fire 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 with a rope of twisted fibre round her neck. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
