Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! 1 His property and worldly gains will be of no help to him. 2 He will soon enter the flaming fire. 3 His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!- 4 A rope made from palm fibre around her neck! 5

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
