Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 He abandoned his people 140 And then drew lots and was of those rejected; 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. 146 Then We sent him to a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if you are truthful. 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 Can lead (any) into temptation concerning Allah, 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 "And we are verily those who declare (Allah's) glory!" 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 and peace be upon the Messengers, 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
