The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the Mountain, 1 And by oath of a passage, written – 2 On an open record. 3 And the House (Kaaba) that is visited, 4 and by the lofty vault of the sky, 5 And by the Ocean filled with Swell;- 6 surely, the punishment of your Lord is about to come, 7 There is none that can ward it off. 8 (It shall come to pass) on the Day when the heaven will convulse in a great convulsion, 9 and the mountains move, moving. 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 Those who in wading sport themselves. 12 The day they are dragged and pushed into Hell, 13 This is the Fire which ye were wont to believe. 14 “So is this magic, or are you unable to see?” 15 Enter into it, then bear (it) patiently, or do not bear (it) patiently, it is the same to you; you shall be requited only (for) what you did. 16 Those who fear God and follow the straight path will surely be in gardens and in bliss, 17 rejoicing in all their Lord has given them, and their Lord will guard them against the punishment of Hell. 18 "Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for your good deeds," 19 They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry them to Houris (female, fair ones) with wide lovely eyes. 20 The offspring of the believers will also follow them to Paradise. So shall We join their offspring to them because of their faith. We shall reduce nothing from their deeds. Everyone will be responsible for his own actions. 21 We shall provide them with fruits and the meat of the kind which they desire. 22 There they pass from hand to hand a cup wherein is neither vanity nor cause of sin. 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 And some of them draw near to others, questioning. 25 They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah]. 26 God has been gracious to us and has saved us from the torment of Hell's intense heat -- 27 before this, we used to pray to Him. Surely, He is the Beneficent, the Merciful." 28
