Al-Hijjr 6 of 6
And the dwellers of Al Hijr also belied the Messengers. 80 And We brought Our signs unto them, yet they were averting themselves therefrom. 81 They carved out dwellings in the mountains, and lived in security -- 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but in truth; and the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness. 85 Verily, your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator. 86 And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. 87 Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoin, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers. 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 So by your Lord, We will surely question them all 92 concerning that they were doing. 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 We suffice thee against the mockers, 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 And We already know that your breast is constrained by what they say. 97 Glorify and praise your Lord and be with those who prostrate themselves before God. 98 and worship your Lord until what is certain [death] comes to you. 99

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
